The topics for discussion were creation of a favorable investment climate, methods and models of the work of a specialized organization of attracting investments. Abkhazia has its own investment promotion agency, which would like to learn from the experience of the leading Russian agencies, first and foremost - IPA of Rostov region.

In the discussion with the Abkhazia delegation, Igor Burakov, Director General of Investment Promotion Agency of the Rostov Region, noted that Rostov region had been the first in Russia to follow the path of creating an agency as a non-state, non-official structure with a clear specialization in finding investors and attracting investments to the region. The efficiency of such a model is confirmed by the work results of the regional IPA and international experts, for example, studies conducted by World Bank.

-  The key indicator, the criterion of our efficiency are successfully implemented projects, - said Igor Burakov. -  We are focused on specific projects, mainly large-scale and industrial ones, as they bring the maximum value added to the budget and GRP of Rostov region, contribute, among other things, to the development of small businesses.

The sides exchanged information on priority directions of attracting investments, the potential of trade and economic cooperation between Abkhazia and Rostov region.
